From a humble business venture manufacturing household equipment, Upton attempted getting a return on investment through electrifying washing machines. Thus came into existence motor-driven wringer washers in 1911.

This followed an acquisition of several Latin American refrigeration companies garnering a 16% market share.

Present Global Status
With growing popularity, Whirlpool built the first miniature space kitchen which consisted of refrigerators, 3-cavity oven and storage space for food.
