About Panasonic Washing Machines & Dryers
Panasonic is one of the largest consumer appliance and electronics brand in the world. With a huge range of products starting from consumer home appliances such as Panasonic Washing Machines & Dryers all the way to multimedia electrical, they make them all. And now they're looking into this Indian market.
Panasonic Washing Machines & Dryers Doubling up the Sales Figures in India
One of the largest conglomerates in the globe, Panasonic is another Japanese brand which is achieving a household name throughout the globe. With a huge range of products across multiple segments including Panasonic Washing Machines & Dryers, they are looking for nothing short of global dominance with this booming Indian market as their fulcrum.
Another Japanese Giant
With their founding dates back in 1918, Konosuke Matsushita started off his electrical appliances factory in Osaka manufacturing duplex lamp sockets. Launching onto the market in 1922, they continued to expand into electric bicycle lamps, electric iron, tube radio receiver etc. By 1935, the company expanded to more than 3,500 employees.
Still a long way away from adopting Panasonic, they continued to sell their models with 'M' badging. Easily among the fastest growing companies around, Matsushita became a conglomerate with a production range of 400 commodities, 9 subsidiaries and 5 holding companies falling under the same M badging in the late 1930's.
By the end of 1945, post-World-War, their employee count increased to more than 26,000 through expansions into the South-East Asian countries. But in 1947, with Japan obviously losing out its foreign war-zones, they again shrunk back to below 8,000 employees.
But their market reach stayed the same. This was when they started investing strongly into household electrical appliances. Panasonic Washing Machines & Dryers, although not Panasonic yet, hit the markets in 1951.
1970's through 80's saw them go through and an innovation spree in the form of audio record players. The quintessential CD template around today is an innovation which comes from their house.
It was in 1979 that they first used the Panasonic brand name for their television sets. Selling strong in the North American markets, Panasonic soon became one of the leading names around across household appliances. They continued to expand their market reach, including India.
Panasonic's Global Endeavors
As of now, Panasonic employs more than 300,000 globally with more than 580 subsidiaries. A typical Japanese Keiretsu (a type of close business group), they provide products and tech know-how across multiple product markets. A less-known fact is that Panasonic is one of the largest automotive parts suppliers in the globe. Their client list currently includes every single Japanese manufacturer along with the likes of Volkswagen and GM. As for Panasonic Electronics, employee count clocks to more than 12,000 individuals in Europe alone.
For consumers, Panasonic simply means the latest innovations irrespective of the product segment. The household appliances market is all about respecting consumer needs. The most basic factor is value-for-features, and this applies to every single price range. Panasonic Washing Machines & Dryers continue to lead sales throughout the market in this respect.
Panasonic in the Indian Market
India is the largest consumer appliances market both in terms of size and prospects. With a running market size of 5 million units in just this product segment, Panasonic Washing Machines & Dryers look to acquire more than 10% of the market share. With a pan-Indian coverage, they strive to do the same across every single other product segments in India.
