How Mahindra Began?
It started as a steel trading company founded by brothers, J.C and K.C. Mahindra and Malik Ghulam Muhammad in 1945. Muhammad left the company following Partition in 1947 and became the first Finance Minister of Pakistan. The name was then altered to Mahindra and Mahindra.
The brothers thereafter started trading steel with UK suppliers and in some time won a contract to manufacture Willy Jeeps. Using this bridge into the world of automobiles, the company became a regular exporter of utility vehicles and car parts.
Over the years, the company diversified into a whole lot of industries. Coupling their ever-expanding zeal with a poor management system, the company was split into separate business units in 1994. These included automotive, infrastructure, farm equipment, IT, and finance.
The company's foray into motorcycles is fairly recent. However, owing to their long-standing history and reputation, a Mahindra motorcycle is garnering significant positive responses from the subcontinental market.
Mahindra global popularity is evident from its presence in India. MTWL has over 300 dealership networks spread around the country, in every major and non-major city with about 700 touch points. Instead of focussing solely on Mahindra's motorcycles, these dealerships provide buying options on their entire range of two-wheelers.
Additionally, MTWL has a manufacturing plant in Pithampur Madhya Pradesh and an R&D center in Pune.
Brand and Reach of a Mahindra Motorcycle
With their aggressive pricing and ergonomic styling, Mahindra makes it easier for their bikes to penetrate all markets. Additionally, the longstanding brand of Mahindra cars and utility vehicles stands them in good stead.

Present and Future Plans
Mojo and Centuro are Mahindra's currently running models. Centuro, a lightweight and easy to maneuver bike, presents a more affordable option priced at INR 55,000. Mojo, on the other hand, is a significantly costlier motorcycle with a price close to 2 lakhs.
With both these models, Mahindra is eyeing to dominate the future of Indian two-wheeler market. Over the next few years, Mahindra will look to invest heavily in premium bikes.
