Xiaomi introduces new Black Shark brand allegedly made to produce gaming phones
Xiaomi recently launches a new subsidiary, Black Shark, rumored to be in-charge in creating gaming smartphones. It is expected to produce a top-tier device having an "aviation-class cooling system" and a flagship chipset.
Last year, Razer fulfilled the dreams of gamers by introducing its first-ever Razer Phone which packs high-end specs claimed to offer a great gaming experience. Due to a potentially little competition, it is no wonder that many tech firms also want to jump into the gaming smartphone bandwagon. Joining Razer in the gaming market might be the Chinese phone maker Xiaomi, which holds the title of being the 4th largest smartphone brand in the world and placed second in its home country after HUAWEI. In fact, Xiaomi recently launched a new subsidiary known as Nanchang Black Shark Technology Co., Ltd or simply Black Shark.
While Xiaomi did not openly reveal that Black Shark will focus on producing gaming phones, we have the reason to believe that it is so. The China-based company's Black Shark Weibo account recently went live and was stated as a mobile phone manufacturer. It did not tease any products yet, but it keeps on posting about some game reviews. For starters, in making a gaming smartphone, a tech company must make sure that it has an efficient cooling system so that it can handle some graphically intensive games without overheating. It must also have a flagship processor married to a massive battery pack to provide a seamless gameplay.
Well, Black Shark's alleged gaming device got you covered. It is rumored to have a highly advanced cooling system referred to as "aviation class" as well as a top-of-the-line SoC which can handle continuous data streams of audio, video, and graphics. It is also expected to sport 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 2 TB via microSD card. It will come with a 4400 mAh battery to keep the lights on. It might arrive by the end of 2018 with prices starting around USD 500 (approx. INR 32,200) like the Razer Phone.
