Xiaomi 'BLACK SHARK' gaming phone with Snapdragon 845 SoC and 8 GB RAM appears on AnTuTu
Xiaomi recently introduced its sub-brand, the BLACK SHARK, which is said to be in charge of making gaming smartphones. Interestingly, a 'BLACK SHARK' phone with Snapdragon 845 chipset and 8 GB of RAM recently appeared on AnTuTu.
A few days back, we brought to you the news that Xiaomi announced a new sub-brand, going by the name BLACK SHARK. If you can still remember, the BLACK SHARK will reportedly be the maker of the Chinese company's upcoming gaming smartphones that will take on the battle with the Razer Phone. We also mentioned that its first device might arrive by the end of the year 2018. However, the much-anticipated BLACK SHARK gaming phone might launch sooner than we initially expected considering that it already surfaced on the benchmarking website AnTuTu. Although the AnTuTu listing does not cite Xiaomi as the manufacturer, we can safely assume that the 'BLACK SHARK' smartphone is indeed the product of its subsidiary, the BLACK SHARK, considering that there are no other tech firm which hold the same name.
Meanwhile, the AnTuTu documentation reveals some of the BLACK SHARK's key specs. It tells us that the alleged gaming-centric handset will sport a Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with Adreno 630 GPU under the hood. The phone is tipped to feature a display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. It will pack a massive 8 GB RAM and 32 GB of built-in memory storage. As for the database scores, the BLACK SHARK received 270,680 points which is on par with the upcoming nubia NX606J. Both devices ship with almost the same set of specifications except for the fact that the nubia phone only has 6 GB of RAM. It is worth noting that the BLACK SHARK's score exceeded Samsung's Galaxy S9+ which got 265,267 points.
While the leaked specs seem to point to a gaming smartphone, we are still yet to know more about it in the coming weeks or months. Once new information kicks in, we'll surely keep you informed.
