Mysterious ASUS ZenFone 5 device spotted, most likely the ZenFone 5 Max Lite
ASUS will be holding a launch event for its latest-gen ZenFone 5 lineup at the MWC 2018 later this month in Barcelona. One of the upcoming ZenFone 5 phones, which is the alleged ZenFone 5 Max Lite was recently spotted out of a manual.
With the Mobile World Congress 2018 in view, ASUS has already started sending out press invites for its #backto5 event in Barcelona. The announcement will take place on February 27, which is roughly three weeks from now. ASUS is expected to introduce a new line-up of its ZenFone 5 series. If you remember, ASUS have already released ZenFone 5 phones back in 2014 and has been launching new variants every year since then. We're still not sure how many ZenFone 5 models we'll get to see this year. But on the positive side, we just came across of an alleged ZenFone 5 device leaked out of a manual.
As per the manual, the ZenFone 5 handset with the model number ASUS X00PD bears the lineup's signature curves. It seems to sport an aluminum unibody with antenna lines running across the top and bottom parts of the back panel. There's also a dual-rear camera module and a fingerprint scanner in the area. Going to the front side, we can spot the 5.7-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The bottom houses the two speaker grilles, microphone, and a microUSB port, while the 3.5 mm headphone jack sits on the top.
Meanwhile, some speculations state that the ASUS X00PD would launch as the ZenFone 5 Max Lite. If it is true, we are looking at a smartphone powered by a Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz paired with either 3 GB or 4GB of RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage. The device could highly run on Android 8.0 Oreo OS out-of-the-box and pack 4000 mAh battery on board.
But still, a lot of things can happen within 3 weeks time, so we suggest you take this information with a pinch of salt, for now.
