Moto XT1799-2 spotted on TENAA with up to 4GB RAM and 64GB storage
Another Moto smartphone has come into the reckoning as it hits the TENAA regulatory in China. The smartphone is spotted on TENAA bearing the model number, Moto XT1799-2. So far, the exact identification of the phone in terms of moniker is not known. It is listed with the key specs such as a 5.2-inch FHD display, 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB onboard storage and 8MP/8MP camera configuration hinting that it will be a mid-range device.
The Lenovo-owned Motorola seems to have another smartphone up its sleeve. A new Moto smartphone, though unspecified, has passed through the Chinese regulatory TENAA signaling it might see the light shortly. Worth mentioning, Motorola is fresh after debuting the Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus in India recently.
The new smartphone has appeared on TENAA bearing a model number, Moto XT1799-2. The listing of the smartphone reveals the key specs of the new device as well as its images.
From the look of it, it appears the new phone takes after the design of the other Moto phones launched this year. The device is fully metallic with a fingerprint sensor on the front possibly doubling as the home button. To note, the camera at the back is not the dual one.
Talking about the listed specs, the unnamed smartphone is likely to sport a 5.2-inch display with full HD 1080p resolution. Powering the device will be a 1.5GHz dual-core SoC. We believe this is a typo since dual-core processor hardly finds a place in any of the mobiles nowadays. It simply doesn't have the potency to run a modern day's smartphone.
In most probability, the smartphone will integrate a quad-core or octa-core SoC. Also, it is uncertain if that will be from Qualcomm or MediaTek. We expect this puzzle will be solved in the coming days as the device most likely will leak further before its launch.
Backing the SoC will be 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB default storage. This means the device will see the light in two memory variants such as 3GB RAM+32GB model and 4GB RAM+64GB model.
On the camera front, the Moto XT1799-2 will tack on an 8MP camera both on the front and the back. As for the firmware, it will boot Android 7.1.1 Nougat, presumably underneath the company's custom skin. It will derive juice from a 2,810mAh battery with a possible Quick Charge support.
The smartphone will weigh 157 grams measuring 150 x 73.5 x 8.2 mm in dimension. There is no info as to when exactly the Moto XT1799-2 will see the light, but whenever it will, it will come clad in three colors: Black, Pink, and Silver. And given the TENAA appearance, the smartphone will first launch in China before moving to the other markets. We will keep the tabs on the upcoming phone, so stay tuned with us.
