LG X4 with LG Pay feature outed in South Korea

In its homeland, LG Electronics has made available a new mid-range LG X4 smartphone, which further bolsters its X-series lineup. The LG X4 is priced at 297,000 won (around INR 18,000) and comes with LG Pay which is company's digital payment platform. The handset offers a 5.3-inch HD display and Snapdragon 425 SoC paired with 2 GB RAM.

LG has announced another entrant to its X-series lineup. The smartphone dubbed as "LG X4" has seen the light in South Korea bearing a price tag of 297,000 won which is about INR 18,000. The smartphone is geared towards the mid-range segment.

Speaking at the launch of the LG X4, the Director of Mobile Marketing at LG Electronics said, "The LG X4, which features LG's unique convenience features, will be a great alternative for customers looking for a mid-priced smartphone."

The LG X4 comes after the LG X4+ which was launched in January this year. The LG X4 imitates the same design as that of the LG X4+ and carries over LG Pay as well as the finger touch features. LG Pay is the company's digital payment platform which allows users to make payment using a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner while the finger touch feature lets users take a screenshot or selfie by tapping the same fingerprint scanner.

Regarding the specs, the LG X4 sports a 5.3-inch HD display with 720x1280p resolution. Powering the device is quad-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC which works in concert with Adreno 308 GPU, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage, expandable up to 2 TB via microSD card.

On the imaging front, the LG X4 mounts an 8 MP camera with LED flash at the rear and on the front a 5 MP camera intended for video chatting and selfies. The smartphone runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat underneath the LG's custom and it derives fuel from a 3,000 mAh non-removable battery.

Amongst other things, the LG X4 has NFC, FM Radio, micro USB port and 3.5 mm audio jack onboard. It also has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.2 support. The smartphone weighs 164 grams and measures 148.6x7.5x8.6 mm in dimension.

The LG X4 is offered in Black and Gold color variants and is currently up for a purchase via major carriers such as SKT, KT and LG Uplus in South Korea. There is no word if the handset will also be accorded to markets outside South Korea. We guess the device has a zero chance of moving outside, considering that the other LG X-series smartphones have so far remained confined only to the South Korean market.
