BlackBerry KEYone 2 accessories leak online before the real thing
It seems like last year's BlackBerry KEYone is about to receive a successor in the coming months, as accessories for the alleged KEYone 2 recently leak in the wild. It includes the phone's screen protector and skin but no images of the device itself.
BlackBerry was once the top device maker in the mobile industry before smartphones from various tech firms took over. In an attempt to regain its position in the market, the now TCL-owned BlackBerry launched the KEYone handset which packs both its iconic physical QWERTY keyboard and a touchscreen display. Sadly, it did not appeal much to the public with just around 900,000 units shipped since its release. On the positive side, it was able to reach 50 countries and is available through 110 carriers. Meanwhile, rumors have it that BlackBerry is prepping two new phones for 2018, wherein one of them will serve as the successor of the KEYone.
Although BlackBerry remained mum regarding the device speculated as the BlackBerry KEYone 2, we believe that it will indeed see the light of the day. We recently came across some alleged accessories of the KEYone 2 listed in online stores including Amazon. We also spotted the screen protectors and skins of the KEYone 2 on the website of the skin provider Skinomi. Unfortunately, the site did not specify the size of the screen protector, which might help us to determine how big the upcoming phone's display is. There are also no images of the handset alongside the accessories.
As a refresher, the first-gen BlackBerry KEYone sports a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1620 pixels. It has a Snapdragon 625 chipset coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage under the hood. It packs a 3505 mAh battery. As a sequel, the BlackBerry KEYone 2 is expected to arrive with revamped specs and features as well as a refreshed design. The second-gen KEYone is expected to drop in April in line with the online stores which will start selling the accessories on June 15.
