About Samsung Nexus
The Samsung Nexus is the third in the series of Nexus smartphones, it is an Android touchscreen smartphone produced by the joint development of Samsung Electronics and Google.
History of Samsung Nexus
The Samsung Nexus was publicly announced at Hong Kong on October 2011. The phone’s official name was also revealed to be the Galaxy Nexus by Google.
It is also the first Android device to ran an Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS (4.0).

Design of Samsung Nexus
The Samsung Nexus series has similarities with its earlier models. It has a slim shape with a somewhat curved design. Though it’s a large handset, the phone fits comfortably in your hand. The display screen of this specific model is 4.65 inches. With a Super AMOLED HD display, the screen lights up brightly with vivid colours. As a protective covering, the screen is also equipped with Asahi Dragontrail glass that can prevent scratches and minute drops.
On the face of the Samsung Nexus phone, there are no buttons physically present. However, as an alternative, they feature an on-screen keyboard with soft keys that are set in the system’s software. Moreover, the entire breadth of the screen is taken up by the virtual keyboard. This occurs when you use the phone in either landscape or portrait mode. With the keyboard being spacious, it is very simple and easy to utilize.
Features of Samsung Nexus
The Samsung Nexus phones run on the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS. These devices are powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM. They are available with a minimum 16/32GB of internal memory, and that depends on the different versions that were released. Since there is no micro-SD slot for an external memory support, the memory is not expandable. Samsung is well-known for producing top quality display handsets such as the Galaxy series, with Google’s collaboration to build the Samsung Nexus, they’ve achieved to produce an outstanding HD display that is crisp and clear views from every angle.
The rear camera comes with a 5MP resolution, whereas the front facing camera is 1.3MP and supports video calling. The camera has LED flash and autofocus and can also record clips in 1080p HD, 720p HD and 480p resolutions. The white balance is adjustable and you can also use the LED flash like a light source for recording. Besides there are choices like digital zoom, autofocus, panorama mode and geo tagging. Besides, via an HDMI port these handsets can be supported to any external displays, like an HD TV for example.
Samsung Nexus also supports Google Wallet, a system of mobile payment created by Google. For connectivity, the choices available are 2G, 3G, 4G, Bluetooth, USB/OTG, AGPS, NFC, Wi-Fi, and more. In addition, there are gyroscope, compass, light sensor, proximity sensor, barometer and an accelerometer available.
The battery backup on these devices is also very good. Generally, they are available as 1750mAh and higher depending on the model.
Recently, Google announced that the next Android version, i.e. M, will be known as Marshmallow. This will also be the OS which the upcoming Huawei Nexus is poised to run on.
