About Panasonic Mobile Phones

Panasonic Mobile Phones

Panasonic Corporation was founded back in 1918 as an electrical product company, but happens to be one of the largest electronics manufacturers in the present day world. The company is headquartered in Osaka, Japan, but has an international presence. The company is well- known for its brand of mobile phones, besides numerous electronics products, which it manufactures even at present.

History of Panasonic Mobile Phones

Panasonic has been known to manufacture feature handsets since a long time. These were also pretty popular and had a decent market share among more aggressive competitors. With the rise of Android as a major smartphone OS, Panasonic too started to delve into making Android powered smartphones.

The first of its Android phones was released in the year 2012, with the Eluga DL1 and Eluga Power devices. This was followed by another series launch the subsequent year, i.e. the P series, led by P51. Since then, there have a T series of phones as well. All of its lineups can be found to date.

Popularity in India

India is currently one of those countries experiencing a smartphone revolution. However, most of the market is in the low end and mid range level. Thus, it also has numerous players in this segment, mostly consisting of renowned international brands, Chinese manufacturers and even Indian handset makers. Panasonic has also exclusively targeted this segment with their releases.

Although there is a very good level of competition, people have been known to opt for Panasonic phones. Much of that has to do with the reputation of the brand. Also, there is a good network of stores throughout the country, along with service centers. The company also has invested in marketing and this allows people to know more about their phones. To say, Panasonic has been doing decent business in the country.

Design of Panasonic Mobile Phones

Panasonic phones have a very good design aspect about them. The phones are largely made of polycarbonate and have a slate form factor. They feature rounded edges and a metal bezel as well.

Screen sizes differ with the various models that have been released till date. Some of the earliest Android phones had about 4 inch screens. However, most of the present releases come with a 5 or 5.5 inch screen. In addition, these are known to offer IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen and many also offer HD/FHD display resolution. Corning Gorilla Glass is provided for better protection of these screens.

Most of the models are known to come with different color options such as navy blue, light pink, gold, silver, black and red.

Features of Panasonic Mobile Phones

Panasonic’s phone range is very rich and offers several features that one expects in any smartphone. The phones are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon/MediaTek processors with multiple cores. They are combined with a minimum of 1GB of RAM. The higher priced models feature more memory. Internal storage starts with 4GB and goes right up to 32GB. Storage can also be extended with the micro-SD card slot.

The phones run on various Android versions, but are not lower than KitKat. They are also known to run customized Android skins that come with added apps.

Cameras on these phones vary in megapixel count and are available on the front and rear. They also offer support additional camera features that are pretty regularly found these days.

Connectivity features found on these devices are cellular network, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro USB, GPS and more. Some of the phones also have a fingerprint sensor and support 4G LTE bands.

The phones have regularly used sensors and are powered by Li-ion batteries with long life.
