About Nokia Mobile Phones
Nokia Mobile Phones
Nokia mobile phones have been an all-reliable segment of devices since their inception into the market. Although adoption of Windows as their smartphone OS saw the company's rapid downfall; they hope to come back strong with their all-new Android devices.
Nokia Mobile Phones Look to Revive the Lost Ground in India with Android Smartphones
Nokia is a name which rings a bell in almost every individual who has owned a cellphone ever. Starting with classic feature phones, they slowly invaded the smartphone market with their Lumia devices. Now, this company is back with their Android based Nokia mobile phones which are looking to create a global domination besides reviving their Indian market.
Turning the pages of history
It all began in 1865 when Fredrik Idestam built a wood pulp mill near the town of Nokia in Finland. He was joined by a close friend Leo Mechelin and together they changed the name of the company to Nokia Ab.
Nokia started with the production of wood pulp, but towards the beginning of the 20th century, Mechelin initiated a shift into electricity business. Although he faced oppositions from his partner Idestam, the later soon gave in and thus, Nokia Electricals was born.
The year 1979 finally saw this company venture into the world of smartphones when it collaborated with Salora technologies. Nokia-Mobira Oy became the company's new name henceforth. Finally, it was in 1998 that Nokia released the 3310 model, their first proper feature phone.
The journey continued as Nokia collaborated with Microsoft for producing Windows-based smartphones. Although initially popular, sales took a nose dive leading to a temporary stall of Nokia smartphone production. Almost a decade later, they finally made their comeback with Nokia 6, their first Android device.
Nokia's brand popularity
After losing out on critical market share owing to its Lumia handsets, the company is currently reviving its glory with its new Android handsets. As of 2017, the company saw sales of more than 5 million Nokia handsets worldwide which demonstrate strong feedback and brand loyalty.
Considering 2018, they are planning to increase sales by 25% by incorporating newfangled budget smartphones. In this respect, Nokia 6 is finding increasing popularity in the Indian sub-continent with Nokia 5 and Nokia 4 as its worthy successors.
Official stores of Nokia
As of now, Nokia mobile phones are available in all major countries around the globe including the USA, Britain, Rest of Europe, Middle East and South East Asian nations. The SAARC nations stand as one of the leading users of Nokia mobiles today.
In this respect, India emerges as the main consumer with more than 2000 showrooms spread across the length and breadth of the nation. The company also boasts of its 850+ service centers distributed in both Grade A as well Grade B cities of the Indian subcontinent.
Future plans of the company
With an array of new Android smartphones at disposal, Nokia is looking to venture into the African market presently. Primary countries under its target zone include Namibia, Kenya and South Africa. They deem the African market as an area of booming technological advances, and in this respect, Nokia mobile phones will be able to harness a ripe market.
