About InFocus Mobile Phones

Considered as the era of the smartphone industry, manufacturers are swooping to the most potential markets around to get a taste of their market shares. InFocus mobiles is launching their high-value smartphones in this huge Indian market to make the best of it. Here's a look into them and their offerings.

InFocus Mobiles: An American Tech Giant Dreaming Big in India

The Indian consumer market is the hottest new smartphone industry in the world. Everyone wants a proper share of it as this market has the potential to grow and sustain growth. InFocus Mobiles looks to amp up the competition offering device with high-end features at low-end prices.

History of InFocus Mobiles

Based in Oregon, USA since 1986, InFocus Corporation has more to do in peripheral electronic device segments than in smartphones. Their maiden tryst in the product manufacturing segment was through computer displays.

Mid-2005 saw InFocus acquiring The University Network or TUN; thus, foraying into digital media and thin-screen TV products and relative services. Selling it off to SubMedia LLC in 2006, it became a public trading company after floating on NASDAQ as INFS.

2009 saw Image Holdings Corporation and John Hui buying InFocus for $39 million. This new integration also saw a massive shrinkage in overall employee strength coming down to about 110. The necessity for a smaller operational HQ was obvious.

With overall revenue scaling down to $150 million along with 90 employees, InFocus's new CEO became none other than Mark Housely in 2015. The same year also oversaw the acquisition of Jupiter Systems, a video wall and collaboration-solutions firm.

InFocus Mobiles is a part of their product-portfolio since 2013 integrating the outcome of all these subsidiary firms and techs.

Global Market Reach

With a continuously increasing market presence in product markets such as DLP, LCD along with LCD touchscreen solutions, InFocus continues to function as a vital provider to a niche market segment. The USA is their primary market outlook although they have a comprehensive market presence across other North American domains. However, their market reach also includes South-East Asian consumer region.

InFocus, including both smartphones and tablets along with other products such as LED televisions, holds strong market shares in China, Taiwan, Vietnam and other countries.

Liaisons with FIH Mobile Ltd. and Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. have allowed the manufacturer to foray into the Indian as well as other Middle Eastern emerging markets.

Brand Specifics

The basic motto behind InFocus products is high-end tech features along with multiple standalone tech add-ons, but at low-budget prices. InFocus aims at much more than just top value-for-features ratings. They further aim at integrating their devices with tech add-ons which are exclusive.

All their products include features which buyers are more than likely to find in devices with higher price tags. Their flagship models rarely cross the 14K INR border. Their budget entry-level models, however, integrate features common in mid-range devices.

Approach to the Indian Market

Coming up as one of the most vital markets for the smartphone industry, India has a huge consumer spectrum. But the larger section of this spectrum will look for high value-for-features.

InFocus mobiles come with just that. Their M and Bingo series provide Phablet experience at typical smartphone prices. With multiple stores across most Indian states even in suburban regions, InFocus looks all ready to take a major chunk in this Indian market.
