A look into their past
Labelling as among the fastest growing US companies, Blu Products hit the markets in 1995. However, it was after 15 years that this Miami based set-up decided to launch their very own series of mobiles which they named - Blu mobile phones.
Their initial operative areas were Latin America, Central America, US and other Caribbean regions. As the company already had an impressive hold on these markets, their first mobile phone series instantly became a raging success amongst its local customers.
In the year 2015, the company brought out 2 smartphone models, Blue Life One and Blue Life 8 XL. They followed that with 2 more in the immediate month namely Win HD LTE and Win Jr. LTE, primarily targeting the European as well as the Indian mass market.
Road to Expansion
As per statistics, Blu mobile phones churned up an impressive production output in 2010, its first year. They sold off over 70,000 units. These figures saw substantial increase with every passing phase. In 2012 and 2014, the company churned up 4.1 million and 15 million resp. as their production outputs combining both US and world-wide arcades.
In fact, statistics show that in 2015, when the US smartphone shipments grew by 140% annually recording 14.6% million units, Blu took lead against some big names. The company secured a whopping 36% (35.6% to be exact) of the market demand and shipped 5.2 million unlocked mobile phones in the US.
With a 160% annual growth record (2.0 million in 2014 to 5.2 million a year later), Blu took the 1st spot in the US market.
Continuing with 2015, Blu mobile's customer base reached a new level. With the launch of Vivo Air- its slimmest model, Life One Series and Studio X Series, their client base surged immensely. Hosting optimal features and low unlocked price, these ranges of innovative mobile phones gathered a horde of purchasing customers.
In the next few years, Blu took rapid strides to gain more exclusivity in many other regions. However, the real impetus came in May 2017, when the company became the official jersey sponsor of Valencia FC.
