ASUSTeK Computer Inc., or what is popularly known as Asus, happens to be a electronics manufacturer with its headquarters in Taiwan. The company is largely known for its PC hardware products such as motherboards, graphics and video cards, and also other components such as optical disk drives. Also, the company has long been identified with the PC business and now manufactures smartphones and tablets as well.
History of Asus Mobile Phones
Asus is a rather new entrant when it comes to the field of smartphones. It first release was the Padfone in February 2013. This was followed by the launch of the Zenfone series the following year. The devices that were released here were the Zenfone 4, Zenfone 4.5, Zenfone 5 and the Zenfone 6. The Zenfone 5 was also followed by several variants of it.
As of this year, the series has seen several more models making way into it. The second generation models consist of Zenfone 2/Deluxe, Selfie, Laser, Go and C. Another model, known as the Zenfone Zoom was also released in early 2015.

The popularity for Asus’ phones around the world has been immense, despite the fact that it made a late entry into the smartphone world and among already established big names. In India too, this has been reflected pretty heavily.
Zenfones, offering a wide array of ultra modern features plus with its affordable price tag, has kept itself in the good will of the country’s market. Zenfones are largely available via the country’s top retail outlets and also from online shopping platforms. Asus has also setup numerous service centers throughout the country with regards to its after sales services.
Design of Asus Mobile Phones
Asus’ smartphone range offers unique and trendy designs. Even with the first generation of phones, the devices were superbly attractive. The second generation models also offer many different designs, including a prism type back and a metallic finish.
The make for most models is a mix of polycarbonate and metal. The back on most models also feature a matte finish, so as to make gripping easier. The second generation phones have a key on the back, which is responsible for offering numerous functionalities.

Features of Asus Mobile Phones
Asus phones are either powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon or Intel Atom processors that also have multiple cores. The Zenfone Go has a MediaTek processor. They are accompanied by memory of minimum 1GB and up to 4GB for the flagship model. Internal storage also starts from 8GB and goes upwards till 128GB. Additionally, more storage can be availed by the help of a micro-SD card.
All Asus devices run Android versions KitKat and higher. The latest releases are known to run Lollipop and many are due to receive Android Marshmallow updates as well. The company own Zen UI runs atop the operating system and has a very good interface. However, it does have a bit of bloatware.
For connectivity, the mobile phones have the usual Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, along with micro USB support. Cellular connectivity is offered in the form of single/dual SIM and they support 3G/4G LTE bands. GPS support is also available. Again, some of the phones also have support for NFC, MHL Out, Wi-Fi Direct and more.
Phones also come with back and front cameras with varying resolutions. They also offer a useful many features for better photography and videos.
A Li-ion battery powers these devices and last long on a single charge.
