About FUJITSU LIFEBOOK
Fujitsu Ltd. is a Japanese multinational company that mainly deals in IT equipment and services. It is based out of the country’s capital city of Tokyo, and is one of the largest IT services companies. In fact, the company was only behind IBM and HP when it came to providing IT services in terms of revenue. The company offers an extensive range of laptops computers, besides other numerous products in computing.
History of Fujitsu Laptops
Fujitsu was founded in the year 1935, which makes the oldest IT company in the world, second only to IBM. Throughout its history, the company had a track record of making computers, the first of which happened in 1954.
The company’s first handheld computer was released in 1989. Even Microsoft’s first tablet PC release in 2002 was a Fujitsu Stylistic ST4200. At present, the company offers notebooks under the Lifebook branding.
Popularity in India
As mentioned already, Fujitsu happens to be one the largest IT companies in the world. Its products are widely available in India as well, with them mostly selling on online shopping portals and retailers in major cities.
However, unlike several other companies that have gained wide popularity in the Indian laptop market, Fujitsu lags behind. This is largely due to the lack of proper marketing and presence only in major cities and towns.
Design of Fujitsu Laptops
Fujitsu pays a good amount of time to design its laptops well. Although fairly simple looking, they still stand out in their simplistic approach. The laptops are largely made of carbon fiber in its construction, which makes them both, strong and lightweight.
When it comes to the screen size, these laptops feature an anti-glare LED backlit display that ranges between 13.3 inches and 15.6 inches. They are also known to feature HD and Full HD resolutions. A webcam is also found just above the screen and comes with a status LED. The Fujitsu branding appears at the bottom. The chassis contains the keyboard and a trackpad with gesture based support. The keys are fairly spacious, so typing isn’t an issue.
The laptops largely arrive in colors of black and red. The Fujitsu logo can be found on the top side of the lid.
Features of Fujitsu Laptops
Fujitsu’s Lifebook laptops are broadly categorized into three major types. These are Advanced, Superior and All-round. All-round notebooks comprise of machines used for normal office and home tasks while the Advanced range offers machines to meet corporate ends. The Superior range consists of stylish devices that are preferred by professionals across several domains of industries.
Fujitsu laptops are powered with modern day processors from Intel, such as the Core i3/5/7 series, including Core vPro. For RAM, they support up to 16GB of memory. For storage, these laptops mostly arrive with HDD, SSHD or SSDs. The higher priced laptop range naturally makes use of SSDs.
Almost all of the laptops come with Microsoft Windows versions, i.e. 7, 8/8.1/10. Also, a few models do come without any preloaded OS.
As far as connectivity on Lifebook devices is concerned, users have a number of options. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are the wireless options. A number of ports and slots can be found on the sides, like USB, Ethernet, SIM slot, VGA, HDMI, DisplayPort, SmartCard slot and memory card slot. Other than these, one can also find stereo speakers with DTS boost, and an audio jack for headphones.
Battery life on Fujitsu’s Lifebook models is pretty remarkable, offering runtimes up to 11 hours in certain cases.
