Asus Desktops

ASUSTeK Computer Inc., which is an electronics and hardware maker, is also one of the world’s largest manufacturers of desktops computers. The company maintains a huge product lineup and they offer parts for OEMs, an also release their own products. The company has its headquarters in the Taiwanese capital city of Taipei.

History of Asus Desktops

Asus was formed in 1989 and although it wasn’t in the desktop business, it entered production later on. Much of Asus’ computer production started around 2006, when it released several lineups for both, desktops and laptops.

Some of these lineups consisted of the Eee series releases, along with Microsoft Origami. At present, the company offers desktops in many form factors and also all in one models. These consist of Vivo, Republic of Gamers, M and VivoMini.

Popularity in India

While Asus remains the fifth largest PC manufacturer in the world at present, the company does seen to play a little bit of catch up in Indian shores. Desktops from other popular brands are more sought after in the Indian market, especially Dell, HP, Lenovo and Acer.

However, although its desktop PC series is not equal in terms of brand presence, its laptops, phones, tablets and other parts seem to fare much better. Asus laptops are increasing in popularity and so are its desktops. Asus desktops are commonly found with major retailers in most cities and also online stores.

Design of Asus Desktops

Asus desktops come in various designs, i.e. form factors. There are ROG, K and M tower models, Vivo all in ones and mini desktops. The lineups are largely meant for home entertainment, regular usage and gaming. Another class of business desktops can also be found.

The chassis is usually made up a metal alloy and also features some plastic in its construction. The ROG devices have the ROG branding on the front, and it is pretty eye pleasing.

The all in ones have screens that are around 20/23 inches in size. They also feature a full HD LED backlit display for amazing graphics.

Most of the desktop computers feature a standard black color. The Vivo PC and Mini however, does feature lighter shades of white and silver.

Features of Asus Desktops

Asus desktops offer a wide range of features in its desktop lineups. They are powered by Intel’s range of processors, such as Celeron, Pentium and Core series. Thus one can choose from low to high end computing. Memory is available in the form DDR3 RAM and sufficient of it is made available. Also, for storage one can count on HDD sizes ranging from 500GB to 3TB. Asus additionally provides 100GB of web storage for a year.

For connectivity, Asus desktops rely on wired forms. Ports such as USB 2.0 and 3.0, HDMI, Ethernet and more are provided. One can also find the headphone and microphone jack in these models. A web camera, as is common in most devices these days, is embedded in an all in one’s monitor. The all in one desktop models also have a TV jack.

All Asus desktops support SonicMaster technology that offers very clear and crisp sound. Besides, the all in one desktop device also offer Hand-Gesture Recognition Software, which can offer hands free control for up to 5 meters away. Interestingly, this is obviously a great feature to have.

All Asus desktops are meant to run Windows OS.

ASUS has recently launched the ROG G20CB-I7G980 slim gaming PC. The unit is as small as 9.5 liters in space. However, there is no compromise on the hardware part as it features a Core i7 processor, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, 256GB SSD + 1TB of storage and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 4GB graphics unit. Going by its specifications, this is surely meant to be any gamers’ delight.
