About Honda Cars
Coming from one of the biggest car manufacturers in the global market today, Honda cars have achieved success over the years and over multiple automobile sections. Innovation and industry-leading technology is their motto. It's only obvious that they keep hitting the ground running.
A brief look at how Honda Cars expanded operations internationally
The name that signifies engineering excellence and Japanese craftsmanship, Honda is a company equally famous in both the automobile and motorcycle industries. Maverick engineer Soichiro Honda primarily started his business in a small garage. The Honda cars of today owe their origins to these humble beginnings.
A Humble Start-up to an International Giant:
Honda manufactured piston rings for Toyota Company. Historical evidence shows that this business began in 1935 and continued until the 2nd World War. During this phase, Honda's company went under the war ministry's control. Post war, an earthquake swept out most of Honda's factories, so, he liquidated this initial business.
The resulting funds became the foundation stone of the Honda Motor Co, Ltd. The company focused on motorcycle manufacturing, and by 1964, their operations reached international markets. They officially began producing cars in 1963. The initial cars featured rear wheel drive-chain and motorcycle styled engineering frameworks. As their success grew, Honda automobiles began entering big markets like the U.S and Europe.
By 1973, it set up production plants in developing countries like Brazil and boosted production volumes to take on more diverse markets. The Honda cars introduced new car variants like sedans, hatchbacks and pickup trucks.
The 1980's heralded a new automotive era. Production plants in the U.S.A started producing the new Accord. The car's 50 mpg EPA rating made it an instant sensation amongst budget friendly middle-class families. The sales volumes encouraged Honda, and it pushed on with more ambitious projects.
In the ensuing years, Honda launched its luxury car lineup, The Acura. This car came in a sporty Integra trim and a more sophisticated Legend variant. The 1990's saw Honda shift focus to India's growing automobile market. In 1995, they began a joint venture with Usha International but in 2012, they bought out Usha's share and established Honda Cars India Ltd. This is a 100% subsidiary of Honda and operates independently in India.
Not only are they one of the most innovative manufacturers, the Japanese are famous for their after-sales and customer service. Continuing with a basic motto of integrating state-of-the-art technology and innovations in the industry, the popularity of Honda cars primarily rests on providing customers with just the same and nothing less.
Honda in India:
With consistent quality products and such endeavours, there is no surprise that this company has become an international brand with establishments in every major economy. India, being one of the largest markets, has an official Honda showroom or service centre in every major city. Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, New Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad to name a few. There are production plants in Greater Noida and Rajasthan.
Indian Market Outlook:
Honda is a company which targets multiple consumer strata. Accordingly, Honda's automobile line-up reflects the same range of options. The Honda cars come in all shapes and sizes, perfect for every single consumer in India.
