About Ford Cars
Ford cars are one of the populous vehicle marquees in the global automotive industry. With a market reach extending throughout every single consumer spectrum with varied model segments; Ford has set its eyes on the rapidly growing Indian vehicle market as an objective.
Ford Cars: About to bring their whole lineup to India:
Ford is the third largest car manufacturer in the world only behind the likes of Volkswagen and Toyota. Despite relying strongly on an American market, the automakers look to increase their mass production of Ford cars by expanding across emerging markets including India.
Father of the modern automobile industry:
Setting up the Henry Ford Motor Company in 1901, Henry Ford's career as an automotive industrialist takes off on a cliché note. He leaves it with naming rights after this company changes into the Cadillac Motor Company.
Ford cars were still a long way away from revving as Henry finally created the Ford Motor Company with multiple investors. Names such as John Dodge and Horace Dodge were on the list. Early years saw the company producing automobiles in small numbers, none of which deserves notable mentions.
Henry saw the obvious necessity for lower production costs and larger units of production. Innovating and introducing the first assembly line, Ford finally saw the opportunity to realize his dream – affordable cars for masses.
Starting production from 1903, Ford badges adorning Model A, B, C, F, K, N, R, and S hit the American markets. But it is in 1908 when the Model T came out of Highland-Park factory; Henry's mass production became mass sales.
Setting the company on the proper track for global supremacy, Ford was also aiming for a more comprehensive market spectrum. Competing against General Motors, Ford's sortie into the luxury auto segment started up with an introduction of the Mercury marquee along with buying Lincoln Motor Co. in 1922.
Global stores and market footprint:
Globally, Ford cars spread across every single market region. Their product range includes every single modern vehicle segment starting from hatchbacks, crossovers, sedans, SUVs, pickups and even sports models.
Their largest market, however, is not the USA but China. Despite import logistics and tax, Ford cars continue to register double-digit sales figures in the Chinese mass market.
Just as vital is their venture in the European market where it brings a varying product flavor to the table thus garnering strong sales.
Ford brand popularity:
Ford is more than just a marquee automobile brand. Comprising of multiple legendary models, the likes of Mustang or F-150 or the more mass-production Focus series, they continue to be a giant in this industry segment. Along with history, the brand relates strongly to consumer sentiment. They continue to provide leading utilities at budget tags without compromising the guarantee of build quality. Additionally, there's always Ford's signature industry-leading passenger comfort, utility and safety features at play.
Ford cars in the Indian market:
Indian buyers can directly buy 5 models from Ford's current lineup. Ford already has one of the largest service footprints spreading across 254 cities including more than 300 dealers. Sales registered a 15% increase in the 1st quarter of 2017 with figures coming in at 63,000+.
The introduction of their Mustang adds a much necessary variation to their Indian brigade. Although selling just 41 Mustangs in March 2017, Ford EcoSport continues to average above the 3500 units per month. Ford cars continue to find comprehensively sustaining figures in this Indian market.
