About Audi Cars
Audi Cars are a common sight in Indian urban roads. The country's automotive market has a huge potential as for high-end luxury vehicles. Manufacturers from all over the world are sweeping in for a slice of this Indian luxury consumer spectrum.
Audi cars: Prime luxury presence in the Indian Market
These Bavarian automobile conglomerate and manufacturer are synonymous with the highest annals of automotive engineering, combining luxury and performance in a single package. Audi cars in India are rare and just a part of a rising fleet of luxury passenger vehicles. Facing competition from the likes of Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar among others, Audi looks to remodel and invigorate their models.
Looking Back to the beginning of Audi cars:
Audi did not start off as Audi at all. Rather, looking back in time, this international manufacturer was first known as Automobile Company Wanderer way back in 1885. It was not until 1899 that Audi took shape under the moniker A. Horch Cie as August Horch's brainchild in Zwickau, now Germany.
1904 saw this company becoming A. Horch Cie & Motorwagenwerke AG. But including the name Horch, which translates into Hark in German, was not the best foot forward with something as vital as a company name. Audi was a much better choice, translating into "to listen" in Latin. Audi Type A is the first-ever model from these automotive innovators.
But it was not until a merger between Audi and the manufacturers Horch, DKW and Wanderer that the signature 4 rings of Audi took its eventual shape. Working under the moniker Auto Union AG, a further merger with NSU forms the skeleton to the manufacturing unit and outlook of the Audi cars.
International and Indian Footprint:
Audi is an international brand with functional consumer markets across multiple sectors and nations throughout the globe. Their sales-figures between 2000 and 2008 doubled. The largest increases came in the Eastern Europe and notably the South-East Asian market especially India.
Among the multiple assembly plants directly under the functional jurisdiction of Audi AG, the Aurangabad plant plays a key role in Audi's market output and logistics in this fledgeling but highly prospective Asian market strata.
Brand Recognition in India:
Audi is one of the leading players in the Indian luxury automobile industry. Alongside the likes of Mercedes, Jaguar, BMW, Audi cars are facing stiff competition. However, they are still participating with better investments in this continually growing vehicle segment.
An extensive market reach is vital for increasing consumer footprint across an emergent market. Other than outlets and centres in the largest metropolitan cities, Audi forays into the Indian sub-continent in places like Coimbatore, Rajkot, Ranchi, Vadodara, Thane among many others.
The range of Luxury Wheelers:
Audi showcases umpteen luxury demands but their products have an inherent adherence towards performance. Their range of products includes offerings across every single vehicle segment starting from Crossovers to Full-Size SUVs, going all the way to sedans.
However, what makes them a notch above most other manufacturers is their concentration towards single-passenger experience. Their A and Q series reflect top-end luxury and convenience respective to every single individual. For a more sportier ensemble, there's always the RS-series and the TT.
Excluding the likes of super cars Audi R8, every other model in their Galleria provides consumers with ample performance specifics, something of an additional brand value. Audi cars resemble nothing short of automotive brilliance.
