If you've been following Xiaomi's Redmi Note 5, you know that it's set to be released sometime in the second quarter of 2018. You also probably already know that it's going to be renamed into the Redmi 5 Plus, breaking away from the Note branding. And if you've followed the device close enough to know all of that, then you're probably excited to get every bit of information you can on it, and that's what we have here: a brand new leak of a render of the device showing off its awesome look in all its glory.
The new render courtesy of user aex1992 at Slashleaks.com shows a handsome device which just looks big in all the right ways. It shows off the front of the device, with a huge FullView display dominating the front of the device, with the rear of the phone sporting some interesting design changes. This render is slightly different from previous renders that have surfaced for the Redmi Note 5, and the most important one you'll want to take note of are the infinitesimally small bezels on the front, smaller than even the ones we saw on the Mi MIX 2.
The top and bottom bezels are about the same size and are really thin, with the camera, speaker and sensors fitting snugly into that thin line, revealing a look that is not unlike the iPhone X, and in some ways, it looks much better. When you consider that it's a very affordable mid-range device and not a flagship-level phone this is a pretty big deal.
The rear panel shows off the two camera lenses, they both share the same cut out in the rear panel and look like two hulking big circles lined vertically along the center of the device, right above a fingerprint scanner. These two lenses are supposed to be 12-megapixels each, so the exaggerated large design might just be for show, but it does look impressive.
The rest of the specifications include a 5.99-inch FHD+ display (at 2160 x 1080 pixels), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor with 3GB or 4GB of RAM, and 32GB to 64GB of internal storage along with a 4,000mAh battery. It'll run Android 7.1 Nougat.
