Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro (2018) quietly launched in Vietnam
Samsung's latest budget-friendly smartphone offering, the Galaxy J2 Pro (2018), which comes with decent specs, recently launches in Vietnam. For a price of VND 3,290,000 (around INR 9,200), you get a phone with 5-inch Super AMOLED display accompanied by a quad-core processor.
Reports regarding the ongoing CES 2018 event crowd up the online space lately. However, it does not mean that we can just disregard the launch events which took place outside the tech show. In fact, Samsung quietly unveiled its latest budget-friendly smartphone offering, the Galaxy J2 Pro (2018), in Vietnam, as the world watched the CES go live yesterday.
The newly-announced device has been leaking for several months now, with its specs sheet surfacing back in December and images showing up earlier this month, to name a few, which is why the newest Galaxy J2 Pro's arrival failed to take us by surprise.
Regarding the specs, the Galaxy J2 Pro (2018) sports a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. Powering the handset is an unspecified quad-core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz and coupled with 1.5 GB of RAM. There's a 16 GB internal storage on board which supports an expandable memory of up to 256 GB via microSD card. On the camera department, the phone features an 8-megapixel rear snapper and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter with f/2.2 aperture, each of them having a LED flash. The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and offers a 2600 mAh battery pack which is enough to deliver up to 18 hours of talk-time and 14 hours of video playback time.
Connectivity-wise, the Galaxy J2 Pro (2018) supports 4G LTE, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/A-GPS, Micro-USB 2.0, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Sadly though, the device does not come with an NFC and fingerprint scanner. Sensors included in the package are an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor.
The Galaxy J2 Pro (2018) boasts of a metallic finish and is available in several color options: Black, Blue, Gold and Pink. It measures at 143.8 x 72.3 x 8.4 mm and weighs 153 grams. As for the pricing, it will set you back at VND 3,290,000 (around INR 9,200). There's still no news yet whether the smartphone will also land in other markets outside Vietnam.
