A 32,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support keeps the light on.
With dual camera module smartphones setting up a trend for 2017, Micromax has also joined the party by launching the Micromax Dual 5. The smartphone, after being a part of the rumor mill for quite some time, was shown the light recently. The launch of the Dual 5 was hailed as the biggest unveil from Micromax in recent times.
The Dual 5 is priced at Rs.24,999. The device will go on sale beginning April 10 on Flipkart and offline stores across the country. Currently, the device is up for registrations on the company's official website.
The Dual 5 flaunts a metal unibody Arc design packing a 5.5-inch 1080p full HD Super AMOLED display layered with 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. On the inside, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.
The Dual 5 runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and remains juiced up with the help of a 32,000mAh battery having Quick Charge 3.0 support. The battery is claimed to fill up to 95% within just 45 minutes of charging. The 164 gram dual SIM device packs a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C port and 3.5mm audio port jack.
Coming to the most salient feature of the Dual 5, the device mounts a 13MP+13MP dual camera configuration laid out in a vertical layout with LED flash and 4K UHD video recording capability. On the front, lies a 13MP camera for selfie and video chatting purposes. All the sensors are of the Sony IMX258.
Another highlighting aspect of the smartphone is its SafeSwitch feature which protects the users from data theft. If the SIM card is removed and the pin is not entered within 30 seconds the keys will be locked automatically without shutting down the handset. This will help in keeping a tab on the handset if it is ever stolen. The phone will again ask for the pin after 60 minutes and if the pin is still not entered the device will be wiped protecting the user's data within.
The Micromax Dual 5 is introduced with Bajaj Finance EMI scheme which is likely to extend further to other Dual lineup smartphones. Plus, it is preinstalled with a Micromax Care app and covered with one-year replacement warranty.
