HUAWEI P20 series might arrive with four devices, including a P20 Porsche Edition
Opposed to what we know previously, the latest report says that HUAWEI will unveil not just three, but four new smartphones at the launch event on March 27. The additional device might bear the moniker P20 Porsche Edition and come with an expensive price tag.
After skipping the MWC entirely, HUAWEI's next-gen flagship smartphone lineup, the P20 series, will then be launching at a company event scheduled on March 27 in Paris, France. As what we already know, the P20 device lineup comprises three new phones, namely P20, P20 Lite, and P20 Pro. However, it doesn't seem to be the case anymore as a recent report revealed that the Chinese tech firm might add another variant bearing the moniker HUAWEI P20 Porsche Edition. It is worth noting that the previous Mate 9 and Mate 10 series also have an expensive Porsche Edition in the portfolio.
While there is no much information available regarding the P20 Porsche Edition, the report indicates that the device will be expensive, even exceeding the price point of CNY 6,000. When converted, it amounts to approximately INR 62,000 (USD 946). Interestingly, the alleged Porsche Edition of the HUAWEI P20 is not as pricey as that of the Mate 9 and Mate 10 which cost approx. INR 64,000 (USD 979) and about INR 80,000 (USD 1,225) respectively. Apparently, it does not mean that it is not very expensive for a smartphone. If you are filthy rich, you might want to resort to buying a P20 Porsche Edition upon its arrival.
HUAWEI's top-end P20 series smartphones are known for their 18:9 displays and an iPhone X-like notch on top of the screen which houses the selfie camera and other necessary sensors. Also, they will come with artificial intelligence capabilities for photography that enables users to capture better-looking images. Rumors state that the P20 Porsche Edition will also have three rear cameras just like the P20 Pro. While there's still no confirmation, it is advisable to take this information with a pinch of salt.
We will surely get to know more about the device as we are nearing its imminent release.
