The Samsung Nexus, also labelled as the Nexus 10, is a tablet that is jointly developed by Samsung Electronics and Google. It runs on the Android OS and is the second tablet in the Google Nexus series, after the Nexus 7.
History of Samsung Nexus series
The Nexus 10 was launched in October 2012 via a blog entry from Google and was the successor to the Nexus 7 manufactured by Asus.
The following month it was available in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Germany and Australia. These tablets were made available in 16GB and 32GB variants.
Across the international Google Play Stores, the Nexus 10’s 32GB version craved more demand, and often was out of stock when compared to the 16GB version.
Popularity in India
India has become a huge market for electronics devices, such as smartphones, tablets and other devices. Competition is tough in every segment. However, Samsung is a leader in the smartphone and tablet segments and Google happens to be the provider of the Android OS for these smartphones and tablets.

Design of Samsung Nexus series
When it comes to its price, the device is a clear benefit over other tablets in its category. It has a sleek and slim design. Since the back is of plastic rather than aluminium, it weighs just 603 grams or about 1.32 pounds.
The Samsung Nexus is available with a 10.1 inch super PLS panel TFT LCD touchscreen. The capacitive touchscreen can be controlled with very slight finger touches easily. The screen has a WQXGA resolution display with 300ppi and has Corning Gorilla Glass 2 that is very tough and protects the screen.
Features of Samsung Nexus series
The Samsung Nexus tablet runs on the Android Jelly Bean OS that can be upgraded to the latest Lollipop OS. It is powered by a 1.7GHz Exynos 5250 dual-core processor with a Mali GPU and 2GB RAM. The tablet is available in variants of 16GB and 32GB internal storage and is sadly not expandable.
The tablet comes with a primary 5MP camera and a secondary 1.9 MP front camera. The primary camera is able to take pictures in a 360 degree Photo Sphere mode and on contact. It supports LED flash, autofocus, touch focus, geo-tagging and face detection. Also, while taking pictures in landscape mode, you can change to its side-to-side panorama mode. This camera also offers video capture in 1080p at 30fps. The secondary front camera is normally used for video chatting. The camera offers 720p video recording.
This tablet also includes an accelerometer, a digital compass, proximity sensor, microphone, ambient light sensor and a barometer as well. For connectivity, the options are Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, NFC, micro HDMI and micro USB.
The battery is a 9500mAh Li-ion polymer rechargeable battery. When totally charged, the tablet offers up to 7 hours of browsing time.
