About ASUS Fonepad
Founded in 1989, Asus is a Taiwanese multinational computer hardware and electronics establishment. The company is the manufacturer of the Asus Fonepad series of tablets.
History of Asus Fonepad series
The Asus Fonepad series are developed by Asus. Basically, these are 6, 7 and 8 inches tablets that come with SIM functionality as well. The Fonepad ME371MG was the initial model launched in India on April 2013. This was followed with the launch of a 2014 version of the Asus Fonepad 7 a few months later.
In June 2014, the Fonepad 8 was launched as an upgraded version of the Fonepad 7. Moreover, a 3G calling tablet the Fonepad 7 2014 version was launched on August 2014.
Popularity in India
In India, the ranges of tablets are not as extensive as smartphones. However, you can still find a number of tablets series from different manufacturers. Asus Fonepad tablets utilize dual and quad-core Intel Atom processors for excellent efficiency in power and performance. Apps opens quickly, games run smoothly with a 1GB/2GB RAM that accompanies the model. These tablets are also available with at least 8GB of internal memory that can be extended up to 64GB with a micro-SD card.
Fonepad tablets run on Android Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean and KitKat OS. However, the operating systems are based on Zen UI, Asus’s very own user interface. This offers users a broad variety of personalised choices. Additionally, these Asus Fonepads are not simple tablets but also function like smartphones as well. You can make and receive calls on them just like on any other device.
The tablets offer dual camera support with a 5MP/8MP back camera and a 1.2MP/2MP front facing camera. The back cameras offer full HD recording, whereas the front cameras can record 720p videos. Moreover, the tablets support geo-tagging, autofocus, face detection, and LED flash (in some models). Additionally, with Asus SonicMaster audio technology and the Maxx Audio software, you enjoy crystal clear and specific sound effects.
For connectivity, Fonepad tablets include a SIM slot (dual in some), GPS, Bluetooth, GLONASS, 3G, Wi-Fi, micro USB port and more. There are a number of sensors as well that come with these devices. With a low powered Intel Atom processor and efficiently designed power antennas, the performance of the battery life even extends to 11.5 hours in some models. However, some models have non-removable batteries.
Asus just launched the latest version of the ZenFone 2 Deluxe in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This latest special version is a prelude to the launch of the ZenFone 2 Deluxe, with 64GB and 128GB internal storage capabilities, in India.
