About Intex Tablets

Intex Tablets

New Delhi-based Intex Technologies Ltd. is a relatively known and famous brand in the India. The company is well known for its line of smartphones, accessories for computers and certain electronics products. The company, as of now, also sits in the topmost position among all Indian smartphone brands that are doing business in the country. It is also known for its range of tablets.

History of Intex Tablets

Intex, as a company, was formed in 1996 and it was then known to manufacture several computer accessories and electronics items, such as media players. However, with time, the company expanded its scope and introduced several types of products.

Phones happened later, although these were basically feature phones meant for basic connectivity. Smartphones soon followed and then tablet computers. As for tablets, the company doesn’t have a very rich lineup, but a rather small one, offering few options. This is largely because it is still relatively new to producing tablets. The series is known as iBuddy and I-Tab.

Popularity in India

Intex has always been a pretty popular company and is mainly known for its computer accessories. However, when it started to make low cost mobile devices with good features, they instantly drew customers. Intex has sold many of its feature phones and they have been extremely affordable for a large segment of buyers.

Then the company went to design smartphones and tablets. While India’s tablet market is growing, it is still largely dominated by foreign brands. Intex has been a low cost option, along with Micromax, but regardless, have a lot to do. Despite this, they easily come out as being some of the best Indian brands for tablets.

Design of Intex Tablets

Intex tablets follow the normal design trends when it comes to their tablets. The devices are basically made of polycarbonate material, which is light and still pretty durable.

They have a standard screen size of 7 inches and the screen is an IPS LCD one. Resolution varies with models and the display is good for viewing and reading. These also feature hardened glass for better protection. There are capacitive buttons present just below the screen to serve certain functions.

The tablets also come in two major color options, black and white, so choices are pretty much limited in this sphere.

Features of Intex Tablets

Intex tablets are rich in features just like most modern tablet computers. They have modern day processors with multiple cores running them. For primary memory, they utilize 512MB to 1GB of RAM, which is sufficient for most Android running tablets. Internal storage varies, but almost all of the devices either offer 4 or 8GB of space. Micro-SD cards are also supported on Intex tablets, for those who need additional storage.

The tablets mainly run on Android as the main operating system and also the stock interface. They are also preloaded with certain useful apps, although others can always be availed from the Google Play Store.

The tablets have cameras on the rear and front for clicking photos and videos. They are pretty decent in terms of quality, but not excellent. Besides, they are also known to pack a handful of useful features.

For connectivity, Intex’s range of tablets offers wireless options such as cellular SIM, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Wired option is usually in the form of micro-USB. GGPS support is also available on these devices. For media, one can find a headphone jack and speakers too. Certain sensors also make their way into these devices.

Intex Tablet News

Intex’s last tablet release happened a pretty long time ago. The device released then was the i-Buddy Connect 3G tablet.
