About LG Nexus
The LG Nexus series, which comprises of the Nexus 5 and Nexus 4, as it is popularly called, is an Android smartphone series that is developed by the South Korean electronics giant LG Electronics. These devices have been developed and marketed in association with Google Inc., and are a part of the Nexus line of flagship devices that are released with every major Android OS update.
History of Nexus series
In the Nexus series of smartphones, the LG Nexus 5 is the successor to the LG Nexus 4, which was released in 13 November 2012. The Nexus 5 was launched the following year on 31st October 2013.
There were two major versions for both the phones, which were the 8GB/16GB for Nexus 4 and 16GB/32GB versions for Nexus 5. Moreover, these devices were available on a pre-order basis initially, from the Google Play Store.
Besides this, as is the norm with Nexus releases, the Nexus 4 was the first phone to run the Jelly Bean OS (Android 4.2) and the Nexus 5 was the primary Android phone to run Android OS 4.4 or better known the KitKat version. Popularity in India

Design of LG Nexus series

The LG Nexus phones come with a 4.7 inch and 5 inch capacitive touchscreen with IPS display for Nexus 4 and 5 respectively. Moreover with HD/full HD display, you get a brilliant quality in the pictures and video. The screens are primarily LCD and protected with Corning Gorilla Glass. This ensures a certain amount of safety from scratches and unintentional drops.

Features of the LG Nexus series
The LG Nexus series are powered by quad-core/octa-core Krait processors and Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets, along with Adreno GPUs and 2GB of RAM. These touchphones run on Jelly Bean and KitKat Android OS, which are further upgradable to the latest version Android 5.1 (Lollipop). The Nexus 5 come in two variants, namely 8GB/16GB (Nexus 4) and 16GB/32GB (Nexus 5). This helps you to store lots of data. However, with no micro-SD card slot available, the storage capacity cannot be externally expanded.
Generally, there is an 8MP back camera with a 1.3MP front camera in the Nexus phones. The back camera offers features such as High Dynamic Range mode (HDR), auto-focus, LED flash, Geo-tagging, face detection, optimal image stabilization, 360 degree viewing angle and Touch-to-focus for capturing every aspect of your images with its superior functionality. The cameras can also shoot videos at 1080p at 30fps. The HD/FHD displays offer great clarity and you can watch HD movies and enjoy playing high graphic-intensive games.
The connectivity features include 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Near Field Communication (NFC), OTA sync, tethering, computer sync, GPS with GLONASS and A-GPS. Finally, in order to support all of these features, the phones are powered by a non-removable 2100/2300mAH Li-ion battery.

Under the Nexus series, Google is looking forward to release two new smartphones instead of one. The two manufacturers are LG and Huawei. Similar to the LG Optimus 3D, the smartphone from LG will apparently offer a 3D dual camera installed at the back. Besides, a fingerprint scanner will also be offered.
As the latest reports imply, the chipset of choice will be the Snapdragon 810. It will run on Android M and offer a 5.2 inch full HD, qHD display screen. The LG Nexus will be considered as the lower-end option, with the Huawei Nexus being the primary flagship. LG Angelo and Huawei Bullhead are the codenames for these devices.
