History of Samsung Galaxy series
The Galaxy S is Samsung’s flagship mobile phone. People speculated the first series was going to compete with Apple iPhone. Primarily released in June 2010, Galaxy S was sold in Malaysia, Singapore and South Korea. One month later, Samsung launched their first product in the United States of America.
Samsung had released numerous Android-based phones, phablets (Galaxy Note) and tablets (Galaxy Tab) in the big markets through 2013. In April 2015, Samsung introduced Galaxy S6 Edge which was followed by the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active two months later.

Features of Samsung Galaxy series
The Samsung Galaxy series are powered with single, dual, quad-core, octa-core processors with Adreno GPU. The phones also come with enough RAM to play the handsets. The devices are equipped with Android OS such as Jelly Bean, KitKat and Lollipop versions. The interface is Samsung’s very own Touchwiz UI, which is smooth and proven to stand the test of time. The phones usually come with a minimum 4/8GB of internal memory. However, via a micro-SD card, it can be expanded to a minimum of 32GB.
Generally, these devices come with a back camera with LED flash and an autofocus, and a front camera as well. In some models, with an ultra-wide 90 degree angle, the front camera can shoot superior group self portraits. In more recent models the Selective Focus feature permits the users to focus on the objects’ focal point being captured and add effects. In addition, the camera is capable of shooting quality videos as well. Besides these, the cameras offer features such as HDR, touch-to-focus, geo tagging, HD video and image recording, face and smile detection and can also shoot videos at 30fps.
In term of connectivity, these phones support dual SIM 2G/3G/4G LTE, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, Bluetooth, GLONASS, Near Field Communication (NFC) for the high-end models, micro USB etc. Some models carry innovations such as document viewer, wireless charging, Smart Stay eye tracking, TV-out, S-Voice natural language commands and dictation etc.
The phones come with a Li-Ion battery that can provide an excellent range of talk time and other daily tasks.
