About HTC Desire
The Taiwanese manufacturer HTC targeted the low-range, mid-range and higher mid-range segments in the market with the HTC Desire series. The Model is well known for its premium aspects in terms of performance and design at an affordable price.
History of HTC Desire series
The HTC Desire was the primary phone in the Desire series, in 2010 after the release of the HTC Desire then came the Desire HD and Desire Z. the HTC S was released in 2011 with the low-end HTC Desire C and V being released on the following year.
In 2013 5 variants of the Desire series were released namely the HTC Desire 600, Desire 500, Desire 601, Desire 700 and Desire 501.
The HTC Desire Eye was the primary high-end model in 2014 featuring a 13MP front camera. Then came the HTC Desire 820 followed by the HTC Desire 816, the primary phablet in the Desire series, the HTC 616, the HTC Desire 516, the HTC Desire 310 a budget phone with a quad-core chipset and the HTC Desire 210 a low-end phone.
Popularity in India
In 2007, HTC entered the Indian market for smartphones. Since then they have succeeded on being the top seller of smartphones in India. HTC has been concentrating on the low-range, mid-range and higher mid-range smartphone segments while playing as the top batter among the new entrants in the market.
The most popular model sold in the country are the HTC Desire 516, Desire 816G, Desire 626G Plus, Desire 616, Desire 620G, Desire 826, Desire 820 and the Desire 816G (2015).
Design of HTC Desire series
The HTC Desire series are rather compact. They are light, easy to grip and certainly fit inside your pockets. The phones are created with premium quality plastic and in return provides a premium sensation of high quality.
Higher priced variants come with a 5 inch and above Super IPS LCD multi touch screens. To avoid scratches and smudges, the screens also come with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. On top of the battery section, the microSD card slot and the dual SIM card slots are situated.
Features of HTC Desire series
The HTC Desire series of smartphones presently run on Android versions such as Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat and Lollipop OS. The phones are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors and octa-core processors by MediaTek. Depending on the model, a minimum of 512MB and a maximum of 2GB RAM are available.
Internal storage comes in either an 8GB or 16GB. In addition to this, with a microSD card, storage can be extended up to 32GB and on higher-end phones up to 128GB.
Most devices come with an autofocus 4MP, 5MP, 8MP and 13MP back camera while a 2MP, 4MP and 5MP for selfies front camera. The cameras support face detection, BSI sensor, touch to focus, digital image stabilization, f/2.0 and higher aperture and HDR. They also have the ability to record full HD movies at 30fps and slow-motion with 720p at 60fps.
The phones offer features such as HTC Sense UI, BoomSound powered speakers, Eye Experience for better selfies, Adreno graphics processor for gaming, dual stereo speakers at the front, stereo sound recording, geo tagging, dual-tone LED flash and also dual SIM (2G/3G/4G LTE) support depending on the model.
For connectivity, the HTC Desire series supports Wi-Fi, OTA Sync, DLNA, tethering, mobile hotspot, 3G, 4G LTE Cat4, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS, microUSB, UB OTG, TV-Out and GLONASS.
The batteries on the phone ranges from 1200mAh to 2600mAH and are usually Li-Po batteries.
