Dell Laptops

Dell Inc. is a multinational tech company that is located in Texas, USA. The company is known for its exclusive range of laptops and desktop PCs, besides a range of other technology equipment such as switches, servers, printers and even software. Dell has numerous laptop lines, meant to serve specific segments of the market. Some of these are the Inspiron, Vostro, Latitude, XPS and Alienware.

History of Dell Laptops

Dell was started by its founder Michael Dell in the 1984. The immediate next year, the company launched its first PC, which was known as the Turbo PC. The earliest of laptops were released in the 1990s and there have been many releases since then.

The Dell Dimension, XPS and Inspiron series are perhaps the older of the models. The Vostro was released in 2007 and the Latitude series the next year. The Alienware models started to make way from 2009. Except the Dimension line, all of these series are sold at present.

Dell has a very good network of stores and even their after sales services are top notch, especially the home repair service where company technicians visit the home and solve any problems. Another reason happens to be that the company has a wide range of laptops that cater to all segments of the market. There is the Inspiron line for regular users, the Vostro and Latitude line for business users, XPS for high-performance and Alienware for the gamers.

Design of Dell Laptops

Dell offers amazing designs of its laptop models. Dell Studio models have always been very impressive and have a dedicated fan following. Other lineups also are good with their design aspects.

Most of the build is largely metal alloys and polycarbonate. They are both strong and yet, light in terms of weight. This makes them easier to carry around, as is the case with laptops. The Alienware and XPS systems feature their branding along with the Dell logo.

The laptops come in various screen sizes and range between 11 and 18 inches. They feature IPS LED backlit displays and HD or higher resolutions. Dell also has its own standards for display technology and the laptops feature them. A full size keyboard is available these devices, along with a gesture-based touchpad.

Dell’s laptops also come in host of color options featuring all regular colors that are mostly sought after by people.

Features of Dell Laptops

Dell’s laptops are equipped with the latest technological advancements and thus come with a rich array of powerful features. Most of the machines are powered by Intel processors, although a few do come with AMD processors as well. Most of the recent machines have Intel’s Core i chips. RAM of up to 16/32GB is provided, especially in the Alienware lineup. For storage, one can opt for SSDs or HDDs. SSD storage is available up to 512 GB while for HDD, one can go for up to several terabytes.

Laptops from Dell offer all round connectivity options in the form of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, HDMI, Ethernet, VGA and more. The laptops also have a webcam, along with microphone. Stereo speakers and a 3.5 mm headphone jack are also available.

Dell laptops are devised to run Windows OS versions, but a few are also known to come with Ubuntu Linux.

For power, Li-ion batteries having multiple cells are provided.
