How we will connect Panasonic DMP-BD79 to other devices ?

sukhi

  • sukhi
  • 22, Sep 2016

Hi Revati,

Hope you are doing well,

The BD79 includes a USB slot for easy connection with JPEG/MP3 data, connectivity via a LAN (Ethernet) terminal to online content such as BD-Live and to access other devices on your home network, plus an optional Wi-Fi adapter (sold separately) for wireless connection.
To enjoy content, you will need to connect a USB flash drive to the BD79 (1GB or more of free space/ sold separately). Requires broadband Internet service.
The Blu-ray players also provide 1080/24p output, thereby reproducing cinema images from a Blu-ray Disc and DVD in their original 24p form with no need for conversion.
This allows the user to enjoy cinema images in the same format used in cinema with a 1080/24p compatible TV.
Hope this answer helped you.

Thanks and Regards,

Sukhi

Hi Revati,

Hope you are doing well,

Many popular video formats such as Flash and QuickTime are supported, as well as VOB files from DVDs.
In addition to MP3 audio, you can listen to lossless FLAC files as well as .WMA, .OGG, .WAV and more. Pictures can be viewed in the popular JPEG picture format, as well as PNG files, GIF files and more.
ConnectShare Movie feature reduces the number of devices needed to view, listen and play your favourite content. Play music directly through the speakers of your DVD player and transfer movies and photos to the big screen. Now, experience a wide variety of content from the comfort of your living room.

Hope this answer helped you.

Thanks and Regards,

Sukhi

How DVD players are different from Blue Ray players?

Kc Prashanth

  • Kc Prashanth
  • 21, Jul 2016 / Good Answers : 1

Dear Amruta,

Hope you are doing great,

DVD players use a red laser to read the information from a disc, they are not capable of reading the very fine pits of a Blu-ray Disc, which requires a blue laser. Furthermore, DVD-Video players lack the advanced technology to decode the High Definition picture from a Blu-ray Disc.

Hope you got the required information.

Prashanth

What are the video codecs that Blue ray disc support?

Dear Amruta,

Hope you are doing good!

All Blu-ray Disc players can play video compressed in MPEG-2, the same compression format used currently on DVD. In addition, the Blu-ray Disc format supports MPEG-4 (H.264) AVC and VC-1.Blu-ray movies may be encoded in any of these three formats. Many first-wave Blu-ray Disc movies are encoded in MPEG-2

Hope your query is answered.

Prashanth
