History of HP Pavilion desktops
HP introduced the Pavilion line of desktops PCs in 1995 as a multimedia offering. These models went on to become largely popular and releases have continued till date.
To date, the Pavilion series offers a huge number of devices in the form of tower desktops, all-in-ones and even mini desktops.
Popularity in India
Pavilion desktops are meant to serve as HP’s entry-level and budget oriented PCs. In India, a brand like HP already does have a very good reception among the masses. The market has plenty of products from HP and they are sought after as well.
The Pavilion line of desktops is pretty popular among home users, students and professionals. It competes with the likes of Dell, Lenovo, Acer, Asus and more such companies.
Design of HP Pavilion desktops
HP Pavilion desktops have been redesigned and have ditched the very old dull looking chassis that used to be common earlier. Presently, they have a magnificent outlook, which is highlighted by numerous color options such as silver gray, red and blue.
As for the all-in-ones in the Pavilion range, they comprise of a FHD IPS WLED multi-touch display that measures 23 inches diagonally. They have a fashionable design with a pearl-coat finish and a sleek metal stand. There is also space on the stand that allows all wires to pass through, thus making them appear incredibly tidy.
The Pavilion Mini Desktop is another offering that pretty resembles the Mac mini. All components are fitted into a cuboidal form factor, round at the edges, and are just 2 inches tall.
Features of HP Pavilion desktops
Pavilion desktops feature both, AMD and Intel processors. The AMD processor used are generally the Quad Core A-Series, like A6, A8, and A10. For the machines featuring Intel chips, they come with Pentium, Core i3, i5 and i7 processors. Addition of discrete graphics card can be done at the time of purchase.
Most of the devices feature 8GB of DDR3 RAM, with a few having 4GB. Memory can also be expanded up to 16GB for all the models. Storage on the Pavilion PCs ranges from 500GB to 3TB.
Connectivity options vary between the different lineups. However, all of them essentially offer wireless connectivity, WLAN+Bluetooth, Ethernet ports, headphone/microphone jack and USB ports. In addition, Pavilion devices also feature HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA ports, card readers, mini PCIe expansion slots, DVD Burner, Blu-ray Reader and more. The all-in-ones also have a HP TrueVision HD webcam. In addition, they also offer Bang and Olufsen PLAY audio experience.
Thees devices run on Window 8.1 versions and also come with plenty of extra software.
