About Toyota Cars
Toyota cars comprise of the second largest share of the global automotive market. One of the largest car makers around, the Japanese manufacturers are aiming at taking the top spot. And they consider the Indian market a vital building block for their push.
Toyota cars making India their top global markets
Toyota is synonymous with engineering and technological innovation on the automotive front for mass production models. Pioneering the industry more than once with their highly intuitive designs, Toyota cars are a perfect example of a consumer-first attitude towards building 4-wheelers. This is what makes them among the top manufacturers in this segment.
Japanese Innovation at Its Peak:
It all starts in 1924 with Sakichi Toyoda who literally invents the Toyoda Model-G Automatic Loom. The principles innovation of this machine was that it can stop functioning by itself upon any malfunction in the automation setup. Toyoda sold this model's patent to a British Company to garner funds for starting up an automotive production line. As a matter of fact, this production line was among the first in the world back in 1929 pre-dating that by Henry Ford.
Automobiles instead of looms become the output of that same production line in 1933 under the patronage of Sakichi's son Kichiro Toyoda. The first production models include the A1 passenger car and G1 back in 1935. And in 1937, Toyoda Motor Co. became an independent company in 1937.
By then, in 1936, Toyoda Model AA ends up accumulating strong sales figures. As a comparatively more affordable alternative to Ford or GM automobiles, these maiden Toyota cars were already heralding the beginning of a continual success in this industry.
August 1937 was just as vital a year in these Japanese manufacturers' history. This is when the brand name and company name finally changes into Toyota from Toyoda.
Toyota's small compact models continued to sell under the Toyopet brand name in multiple markets till the 60s. But it's their direct entry into the American market in 1957 as Toyota which changes the face of the automotive industry forever.
Global Recognition and Market Footprint:
They are the largest company in Japan with twice the market capitalization in comparison to SoftBank coming second. They are the second largest automobile manufacturing company only after Volkswagen Group. Although the latter is a conglomerate of multiple emerging companies, Toyota has only one subsidiary company, Lexus, its luxury division.
Ranking as the 9th largest company globally as of October 2016, Toyota cars export to more than 170 countries. They liaise their manufacturing functions to more than 50 overseas manufacturing companies. Toyota has one of the largest markets reaches as an automobile brand in the world.
2001 saw Toyota launching their "Toyota Way" protocol which serves up as a standard which every single of their 300,000 plus employees has to follow. These guidelines primarily concentrate on umpteen process optimization and "Kaizen" or a continuous urge towards innovation.
The popularity of Toyota comes as a direct end-product of just these values. For buyers, Toyota represents technology, value-for-features, technology, craftsmanship, high-end utility, longevity and above all, a guarantee of all these together.
