About Jaguar Cars

The British car manufacturing company, Jaguar is a world renowned brand. It began its operations as a motorcycle sidecar manufacturer but gradually expanded to full blown automobile manufacturing unit. The Jaguar car is a hallmark of British engineering and tenacity.

Jaguar car – Its journey to become a benchmark of class and subtlety

Jaguar is a name which exudes dominance and stature. And the British auto manufacturers are synonymous with these two words. Since its inception, this English company has produced quality engineering products. Initially, the business produced sidecars for motorcycles. The Jaguar car came into existence a lot later.

A Legendary Brand in The Making:

Starting off as an initiative between two motorcycle enthusiasts William Lyons and William Walmsley in 1922, it was not till the Jaguar XK-120 hit the roads that the company started winning accolades. Exquisite curves, distinctive design details along with a promise of performance, this Jaguar was irresistibly already on its way to the best pages in Automotive history.

After producing sidecars, the company moved into producing coaches for passenger cars. And gradually, as profits increased, the organisation moved into full-fledged automobile production. The maiden name S.S cars were rebranded in 1945 and became Jaguar.

Jaguar was bought by British Motor Corporation in 1965 and re-formed under British Holdings Ltd. This era marked some significant design and production changes. Overall popularity, however, remained unchanged, and the Jaguar car continued its progressive march.

In 1984, Jaguar went independent again. This move was orchestrated by then British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher as a drive towards promoting privatisation. It listed its shares on the London Stock Exchange, and it stayed that way for a short period.

But the company went through another transition when Ford bought its US and UK shareholdings in 1999. From here on, Ford controlled Jaguar's production and distribution channels till the 2008 market crash. During this time, TATA successfully bid and bought majority holdings in Jaguar and Land Rover.

Global Recognition:

As Jaguar is a luxury brand, there are official dealerships in every major economic hotbed on Earth, be it in England, India, U.A.E or Australia. The dealerships usually function out of large cities and townships where there is a steady flow of high profile buyers.

In India, the Jaguar car has dealerships in cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, etc. A new plant at Pune, India caters to the colossal Indian automotive market.

The Emblem of Class:

As a brand, Jaguar has grown from a humble motorcycle sidecar manufacturer to a fashion statement. Popular media like films and advertisement catapulted the pouncing cat symbol into automotive folklore.

Today, people buy a Jaguar car not because they are efficient and attractive, but because they are a way of life. The mere act of owning a Jaguar is a ticket to a highly successful and selective owner's club. This is why iconic Jaguars like Eagle E-Type have always attracted such high profile public figures.

After sale services:

The Jaguar car is a delicate entity, and it needs proper servicing. Undoubtedly, this British manufacturer delivers the requisite services in oodles. It's after sale service is phenomenal and continues to deliver quality services to car owners.
