About Hyundai Cars
Hyundai Cars are one of the most sought after automobiles in multiple markets across the globe. This Korean manufacturer started operations from very humble beginnings. Hyundai's steady growth along with high revenue turnovers has helped it grow into an international phenomenon.
Hyundai cars becoming the global juggernauts of automotive engineering
Hyundai is a name, cardinals enjoy and respect. It's a brand which, over the year, has introduced autos with cutting edge technology and éclat drive convenience. Whenever Hyundai cars come into the limelight, everyone raises their head and takes notice. Respect comes naturally.
Humble Beginnings to a World Leader:
Since its inception in 1967, this Asian automotive manufacturer has expanded operations to every continent. Today Hyundai Cars ply on more than 190 countries. But initially, the Hyundai group dealt with construction and engineering ventures. In fact, the Hyundai Motor Company originated from Hyundai Engineering and Construction Company. Production officially began in mid 1967 and Hyundai got the necessary support from Ford Motors. With this help, Hyundai launched its first automobile, Cortina in the Korean market.
They soon hired quality engineers and project managers from British Leyland. This new team helped Hyundai come up with their next big launch, the Pony. The pony was the first Korean car, and it racked up some solid sales figures domestically. Hyundai started exporting the car after their successful domestic campaign.
In 1984, Pony touched down on Canadian shores and here also, Hyundai proved their mettle. These overseas wins motivated the Koreans exponentially. And in 1986, the Hyundai Excel entered the U.S markets. The Excel's affordability and reliability catapulted it to groundbreaking sales figures. As a consumer product, it won numerous accolades and helped establish Hyundai cars as one of the premier auto giants internationally.
In 1996, it entered India as, Hyundai Motor India, Ltd. During this time, Maruti Suzuki controlled most of India's car markets. Their products outsold those of Hindustan Motors, but the scenario changed as Hyundai debuted its Santro. The Santro took everybody by surprise. The quality and affordability made it a darling amongst India's middle-class fraternity. People loved the car's design, fuel economy and overall build quality. HMIL set up its production plants in Tamil Nadu which is still going strong today.
Market Reach: Global and Indian
Hyundai is the 3rd largest automobile manufacturer on this planet. So, its operation and dealership spread out to hundreds of different countries. In fact, as of today, it has more than 5000 official dealerships in more than 180 countries.
In India alone, the Koreans have thousands of showrooms in almost every town and city. There are service centres in remote hamlets which enhance customer accessibility. Hyundai cars target every social level. The showrooms display premium luxury models like Sonata and Santa Fe; as well as, budget friendly versions like Hyundai Eon and i10.
Indian Market Popularity:
Coming to brand value and popularity, Hyundai is one of the most valuable brands out there. The company's innovative engineering and quality customer service are the foundations on which they built their legendary status. The versatile dealership locations add to their all encompassing market strategy.
Into the Future:
Like mentioned above, technology and innovation are critical components of Hyundai's culture. Their vehicles feature new breakthroughs like hybrid fuel setup and intuitive driving controls. Hyundai cars are tech savvy creations which provide customers with superior driving experiences.
