About Datsun Cars
Fabricators of Datsun brand pondered on quality with colossal growth figures skyrocketing worldwide from Japan to US, Europe and finally into India. Datsun cars recently launched their GO and GO+ which serves the purpose of a family car in a budget. Sales maximization and customer satisfaction are crucial to them.
Datsun cars relive DAT spirit with the GO in India
Ever since its production in 1931, Datsun motors has been known for producing high-performance automobiles, be it in races or as consumer utility vehicles. Datsun represents the sun in Japanese national flag, hence its name. With flagship models like 510 and the Fairlady roadster, this automobile company made its successful entry into the consumer market. With its recent relaunch in 2013, Datsun cars attempt to relive the tradition with their Go.
The emergence of a new Sun:
Like a startled rabbit attempting to sprint off, Datsun popped out from Kaishinsha Motorcar Works. It got its official name in 1925 when they decided to concentrate on trucks as well. Datsun considered merging with other automobile companies as well during this period. It was not until 1920 that they started producing light consumer vehicles.
Apart from a 10 HP 2 cylinder vehicle, Datsun finalized their new passenger car with a 500 cc capacity. Following a minor name change in 1932, it continued an excellent production, line in line with Ford and its nearest competitors. Exports continued to New Zealand and Australia.
During their war with China, Japan concentrated its attention to making military vehicles for the Japanese army. Datsun supplied them with war trucks and shifted their production to Austin 7 inspired vehicles. By 1960's, Datsun cars emerged with a 110 saloon vehicle boasting of a completely unique design.
Gaining Significance worldwide:
It was only under Nissan that Datsun decided to release its range of small cars. By 1960's, Datsun already found its customer base in the US. With the help of Nissan, they were even producing high-end luxury cars like Cedric and Z-car.
While Nissan Motor Corporation in the US took care of luxury segments, small cars remained under the Datsun hood. The Manchurian truck factory realized the growing importance of Datsun and its collaboration with Nissan.
Gradually the company shifted to manufacture passenger cars, and with its entry into the Australian market, Datsun was bent on winning it all. Their 850cc 25 HP, four cylinder engine, is an engineering marvel by far standards. After a halt in production in 80's, Datsun cars resumed production in 2013 with their GO and GO+ models released in India, Indonesia, and Australia.
Global Regard for small utility vehicles:
Datsun has been the pioneer in small car production since 1940's which extended till 1980's. Their uniqueness lies in their ability to build robust models pertaining to that age. While Datsun entered the US market in California, it hired a Bluebird dealer to supply its vehicles there.
Bluebird's sales topped 200,000 in less than a year and an additional half of it in exports. It won the east African safari rally and assisted Nissan in their production for Skyline GTRs.
Admittance to Indian market:
Datsun targets high growth markets and thus by 2012, it arrived in India as well. Aiming to promote its enormous growth figures in the last century, Nissan re-launched its GO in New Delhi within a completely new avatar in 2013. With this, they aimed to spread their growth in Middle Eastern countries and Russia.
The small-automobile manufacturer plans to open its new plant in Chennai in collaboration with Renault-Nissan, India. Based on the same platform as Nissan Micra, GO is typically built for Indian and Asian countries. Datsun's Redi-Go concept was launched in 2014, and their recent launch of Datsun Redi-GO adds fuel to Datsun cars production figures.
