LG Q6 with FullVision Display launched in India on August 9
Earlier than expected, the recently launched LG Q6 has landed in India on August 9. The smartphone went on sale on the same day exclusively on Amazon India. Basically, the LG Q6 is the pared down version of the LG G6 flagship. The smartphone features a 5.5-inch FHD+ FullVision Display, Snapdragon 435 SoC, Android 7.1.1 Nougat and 13MP/5MP camera configuration.
LG unveiled the LG Q6 internationally last month and without delay, the smartphone is now confirmed to have launched in India on August 9 exclusively via Amazon.
The Indian e-commerce giant, Amazon India has gone on to list the LG Q6 on its website. The device which is already on sale now is priced at Rs 14,990 as per the latest update which targets the mid range segment.
Before delving into the specifications, we must say that LG Q6 is actually a trimmed down version of the LG G6 flagship and was speculated to be called as LG G6 Mini. However, later on, reports pegged the name as LG Q6.
The highlight of the LG Q6 is the FullVision Display that was first launched with the LG G6. The FullVision Display boasts of 18:9 aspect ratio, making it capture more areas of the front panel removing much of the bezels. For durability, it is crafted with 7000 series aluminum with rounded corners. Also, the device is armed with facial recognition and Knock Code features. The LG Q6 flaunts a 5.5-inch FullVision Display with FHD+ 1080p resolution. Pumping power from under the hood is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 SoC mated to 3GB RAM and 32GB default storage, with expandability support via microSD card. On the camera front, the LG Q6 is laced with a 13MP rear camera. And on the front, a 5MP wide angle camera is fitted for selfie and video chatting purposes.
On the software side of things, the handset runs the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat. A 3,000mAh battery supplies juice to the smartphone. Weighing 149 grams it bears the dimension of 142.5 x 69.3 x 8.1mm. The device supports all the standard connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC and USB Type-B 2.0. The LG Q6 will be dressed in three color options: Astro Black, Ice Platinum and Terra Gold.
The LG website lists the handset with consumer offers of up to 50GB additional 4G data under Jio Digital Life scheme. Also, it offers a free screen replacement guarantee and free game titles worth of Rs.32, 000. The LG Q6 competes against other smartphones like the Moto G5 Plus, the Lenovo P2, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 and a few others with similar specs.
