About Hero Maestro
Hero MotoCorp which was formerly known as the Hero Honda is an Indian Motorcycle manufacturer, headquartered in New Delhi the capital of India. The company is the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India and has a 46% share into the two-wheeler market. In 2010, the joint venture established in 1984 between the Hero Cycle of India and Honda of Japan ended. The company also features in the Forbes list of the top 200 World's most respected companies. The Hero launched the Maestro in 2012 against its own scooter segment leader the Pleasure. The tagline "it's a boy thing" aptly associates the scooter with the male section of gender polarized scooter market. The scooter comes in the price range of about Rs.50,000 – Rs.55,000.
Engine and Efficiency specification
The Hero Maestro has a 4-stroke, air cooled, single cylinder OHC engine with 110.9cc displacement capacity. It produces a maximum power of 8 bhp @7,500 rpm and maximum torque of 8.7Nm @5,500 rpm. Maximum speed of 85kmph, this motorcycle has a tank capacity of 5.3L and 1.8L as reserve. The scooter comes with a self-start automatic clutch transmission and is one of the most fuel efficient scooters in the market.
Bold and edgy, the Hero Maestro is a scooter to ride with a style. The bar handle has good instrument cluster along with side view mirrors. The turn indicators are mounted on the front giving it a dazzling and distinct look. There is ample space for luggage and feet. The seats are comfortable and wide. The pillion position is well rested with side footrest and has a handle to grab at the rear. The tail lights and rear indicators are big and bright.
Bubbling with all the good features, this scooter has bigger wheels. It has an Anti-theft Immobilizer. The tubeless tyres come as standard. The digital and analogue combo instrument cluster has the speedometer, trip meter, fuel meter and a service reminder warning signal. The scooter also boasts alloy wheels. The headlamp feature gives you a proper light in all conditions. It has an external fuel filling system, which is quite convenient as one can refuel it without getting off the scooter. It has integrated the brake system. The boot light and mobile charging port meets your external needs. It has a massive 22L under seat storage. The Maestro comes in a variety of colour options including blue, red, pearl white and sporty matte variants. It also comes in a complete matte venire grey color option.
Dimensions and chassis
The Maestro has a kerb weight of 109Kg. It can carry a max payload of 130Kg. The scooter is 1841mm long, 695mm wide and 1190mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1261mm and ground clearance of 155mm. It has a seat height of 775mm. The chassis is of the high rigidity underbone type.
Brake, Wheels, and Suspension
The front and rear drum brakes are 130mm liners. The front brakes do not come with a disc brake option. The front suspension has telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers and rear suspension has swing arm with hydraulic absorbers. The ride is soft and feels less bumpy and super comfortable. The front tyre is the 90/100-12-54j and the rear tyre is the 90/100-10-53J. The alloy wheels are 12-inch size.
Pros and Cons
The Hero Maestro, a new age scooter is loaded with a host of features which takes care of almost all your needs. One of the premium scooters, it is light and easy to handle. It looks sharp and upright. Light on pocket, it is all what you need. We did not find any cons in this model.
